          Support RAMP

RAMP's services and advocacy are touching the lives of people with disabilities, giving them the support they need to tackle their obstacles, recognize their abilities and pursue their dreams.

The independent living movement of people with disabilities has never been stronger. We owe our ability to meet growth to the overwhelming amount of support we receive from the citizens and communities throughout Northern Illinois. And now more than ever, we need you to join this movement. Below are just a few ways to give that will help us meet the challenge of more people with disabilities seeking to fully participate in society.

Make a Donation

RAMP now is able to accept donations by credit card!

Did you know that approximately 22% of RAMP's funds come from people like you? People understand how important RAMP's mission is and show their support by donating $5, $25, $100 or more. And, since RAMP is a 501(c)(3) organization, your donation to RAMP is completely tax deductible.  To make a donation, mail check to the RAMP office of your choice or call Julie Bosma, Development Director, 968-7467.

Contribute to RAMP's Endowment Fund

What is RAMP's Endowment Fund?
In 1999 the Board of Directors of RAMP established the Endowment Fund as a way to increase RAMP's independence and self-determination. RAMP's endowment will receive gifts, bequests, and memorials that will provide support for independent living services beyond what is possible through the annual operating budget. The Endowment will be separate and distinct from the annual operating budget of RAMP.

How will income from the Endowment be used?
The income generated by the Endowment will be used to enhance the mission of RAMP. The principal will remain in the Fund. This allows today's gift to continue giving.

What types of gifts can be made to RAMP's Endowment?
RAMP's Endowment Fund can receive donations in many forms. A few of the most common types are:

  • Bequests
You may bequest by Will a gift to the Endowment. With this method, you have all of the enjoyment, use and disposition of the intended gift during your lifetime and at death it is used to support the work of RAMP.

  • Cash & Securities
You may make an outright contribution of cash and/or securities (stocks/bonds/mutual funds). A gift can be made on a periodic basis. Gifts of appreciated stocks or bonds often provide significant tax advantages for the donor.

  • Charitable Gift Annuity
You may create an annuity that provides income for you or other named persons, while gifting the remainder to the Endowment Fund.

  • Charitable Living or Testamentary Trust
You may create a charitable living trust or charitable testamentary trust that allows you to establish the designation of your assets after death on a regular basis with tax benefits. The trustee whom you select distributes the trust assets or the income from the assets to the charitable organization you have designated.

  • Life Insurance
You may consider making an outright gift of an existing life insurance policy or purchasing a new policy, designating it to the Endowment Fund, and naming RAMP as owner and beneficiary.

  • Additional Gifts
Every situation is unique and there may be additional giving options that can work specifically for you. For determining which types of gifts will most benefit you, we recommend you discuss all options with a tax advisor.

You can obtain more information and answers to your questions by contacting Julie Bosma at RAMP, (815) 968-7467 v/tty.

We encourage you to consult an attorney or financial planner when preparing or amending your will or estate plan.

RAMP has several large mailings throughout the year to promote events and solicit funds. Some mailings take a half a day to complete, while others may take several days. Tasks usually include stuffing envelopes and affixing labels, and breakfast or lunch is often provided for our volunteers, depending on the length of the project. Volunteer to help with Slant deliveries

Over 5,000 are directly mailed, while the remaining are placed at established delivery sites including supermarkets, banks, businesses, churches and so on. Mileage is reimbursed for anyone wishing to assist us with our Slant deliveries to these designated sites. Call the Rockford RAMP office for more info, at
