Established
in 1980, RAMP, Inc. is a non-profit, non-residential Center for
Independent Living (CIL). RAMP advocates for and serves people
with disabilities and their communities in Boone, DeKalb,
Stephenson and Winnebago Counties from offices in
DeKalb, Freeport and Rockford.
At no cost to the individual, we serve with the
purpose of increasing the ability of people with disabilities to
become productive, contributing and self-directing members of
society.
We also educate businesses, service providers and
public entities on disability issues and help them to comply with
the technical requirements of the Americans
with Disabilities Act and other disability related laws and
standards.
RAMP is funded by Federal and State grants, service
organizations, corporate donations, special events, community
organizations and individual contributions. RAMP is also a member
agency of the Boone County United Way, Northwest Illinois United
Way and DeKalb United Way.
