Advocacy
Regional Access
& Mobilization Project (RAMP) is North Central Illinois' Center for
Independent Living. RAMP's mission is to promote an accessible society that
allows and expects full participation by people with disabilities.
RAMP is based
upon "peers assisting peers". Accordingly, 51% or more of the
staff and Board of Directors of RAMP are people with disabilities.
To accurately
represent the relationship between staff and the people we serve, those who
use RAMP's services are referred to as consumers, rather than as clients. We
will not do things to foster dependence on us or anyone else. Rather, we
expect our consumers to actively participate in the process of meeting their
needs and ultimately learning to do for themselves.
Commitment to Accessibility
RAMP is committed to providing a website that
is accessible to people with disabilities.
As accessibility is the right of all individuals, and we are committed to
ensuring our website meets Priority 1 and 2 of the W3C's WCAG guidelines.
If you use assistive technology
(such as a Braille reader, a screen reader, TTY, etc.) and the format of any
material on our web sites interfere with your ability to access the
information, please contact jfoss@rampcil.org
for assistance. To enable us to respond in a manner most helpful to you,
please indicate the nature of your accessibility problem, the preferred
format in which to receive the material, the web address of the requested
material, and your contact information.
